Sony are ok but the software is shocking!

Rarely have I seen someone's enthusiasm for a product do an about face so quickly than with the Sony NWA-straightouttacompton-A3000-shiny-pebble and it's god awful software.
House mate got one and it was returned for a refund after about a month. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone I liked.

Meh - I don't find SonicStage annoying at all.

Sonicstage wasn't that bad although it wasn't as user friendly or easy to get along with as say iTunes or WMP11 imo.

That said i only sing its praises because i tried the updated piece of steaming turd they called "Connect Player" which promised to be much more user friendly and had an iTunes like interface... it started off looking alright but it soon deteriorated into crashing upon loading up, crashing when i added anything else to the library, crashing when i connected my player, crashing when i wanted to transfer songs... you get the picture. They promised that each new "version" would fix the aforementioned troubles but it never happened as far as i was aware (i soon went back to Sonicstage after a few updates) and i think they've even just phased it out now ?

My £5 Matsui MP3 Player has expired... :(

Having a quick look around, I found THIS but was wondering if anyone had any experience of this model, or suggestions for anything else.

Given that I only really use it when walking between sites or mowing the garden I don't want anything too expensive, and I already have the headphones sorted out, so the quality of the ones supplied with the unit are not important.

Also, it doesn't have to play videos, but that would be a nice bonus, (though I wouldn't mind at all if it "just played music").

Thanks.

Play.com had a good range last time I looked, and Argos were selling those really good Phillips ones for around £40 and up...
