Google has lots of options on a VGA to Scart adaptor, or VGA to Composite adaptors.

My solution would be to buy the adaptor, then plug the Aspire in to the CRT, via the adaptor.
*shrugs* ;)

I had this conversation recently.

Unless the CRT TV is of spectacular quality, then the best solution is to buy a new TV. If he watches it a lot, then he'll save what he spends in reduced electricity bills.

He'll probably need a new TV in the not too distant future anyway, and these days decent TFTs cost less than really good quality scan converters.

Don't bother - it will look completely crap, and won't be usable.

this, other than HDTVs, tellies have appalling resolution, itll be utterly unreadable and look like filth :(

better to either buy a cheapy LCD monitor, or an LCD HDTV.

ios there any reason he cant put the lappy on a bedside table or something? then he could use the integrated screen and avoid this whole kerfuffle
