I want some speakers to do my Blu-ray films some justice, and thus need a new set of surround sound speakers for the front room. I know nothing about audio equipment, so I'm relying on the friendly peeps of x404.

My requirements:
- Must work with PS3

Er, that's it. Bonus if it works with the PC too.

Something sub-£400 please, cheaper the better :).

I've gone for the Logitech Z5500 5.1 speakers, since these will work with both my PC and PS3, and support Optical input. They got rave reviews and were only £200, didn't seem bad. I'll report back when I get them - hopefully they'll make my Blu-ray films a much better experience (esp. Star Trek when it comes out!).

Sounds like a plan. Difficult to hit £400 with "hifi". I'm sure you'll love them :)

I had them before I upgraded to my Onkyo/Mordaunt Short 5.1 system.
Fantastic. Just remember to keep the sub away from your PC and don't try to extend the control cable with a monitor lead (it goes fizz then dies).

I've only ever done it with a chicken so far, but if required I wouldn't have any problems doing it with other animals at all.

Cheers for the heads up, I'll remember that!

Words cannot describe how amazing these speakers are. Dolby 5.1 Digital Surround sound with an optical connection from the PS3 sounds obscene. Films are now a real pleasure to watch! Just waiting for a Godly hour to try music and games now! :D :D
