Looking at something small that I could have in my consultation room that would allow me to play music during break times. It can be lonely here and very quiet after hours. Quite like the look of a Dr Dre Beats Pill but the reviews aren't spectacular.

Doesn't need to be big or clever. I have no sockets left in the room so preferably something that has a battery and can be charged via USB (or works via USB) would be good.

I have one of these

BTV5 Wireless Speaker Smartphone accessory

And it's actually surprisingly good. It's about the size of tennis ball, decent sound as long as it's on a hard surface, charges from standard phone micro-USB, has a pretty good battery life - certainly last you a working week at an hour a day - and it only cost like £50 from Amazon.

I've used it with an Android phone, an iPad and an iPhone and it's been fine with all three.

Pint glass

Phone in (speaker end first), done

Similar effect to the kitchen roll speakers but not nearly as messy looking

A large tea mug works similarly well

I have had a set of <<these>> for about 4 years now .. used on family holidays etc.
They are great for the size, can be powered by the included USB lead or AA batteries and at the price shown are a snip (I paid 40 odd pounds for them).
They have a 30 pin iPod connector but also a 3.5mm socket.
For 13 quid they really are excellent value.
Didge.

I have just bought a mini rig which though expensive is good and loud enough. Connects via bluetooth or cable and has decent battery life.
