Maybe there's some magical properties instilled in the coat hanger from their method of manufacture. We must investigate!

A coat hanger worked better for me as a portable TV aerial than the supplied version. |

Not sure about magical, but they're also good for divining. And of course car aerials. And those buzzer games with the bent wire. And fishing things out of drains. |

As I'm sure I've mentioned in the past, a friend of the family was involved with the HDMI standard drafting. If a cable or TV has the word HDMI on it, then it's met a certain threshold for signal performance. If it doesn't meet that, then they can't use 'HDMI' on it. Expecting a device to go beyond that threshold will have a negligible affect. Nice article! |

http://www.audioholics.com/education/ca ... ng-results It only matters on a long distance, we ran 2 x 10m cable (I think, may be slightly less) through the ceiling at work, different branded cables, one with a flex connection (so it could pivot to connect into the tv) one with just a standard cable The flex connection one is buggered at full 1080p 60hz, cant handle more than 720p 60hz/1920x1080@30hz The quality does matter... but I wouldn't put get a premium branded cable, I'd probably buy a few cheap ones  This is also more than likely an edge case for most users |

I suspect that's nothing to do with quality, more to do with the design of the flex component. Wouldn't a cable with a 90° connector have done the job? |

Yep, a flat cable would have sufficed given the knuckle on the joint Typically I had no say in the buying of the cable though |
